Jeroen Famaey is an associate professor at the University of Antwerp and imec in Belgium, where he leads the Connected Systems research at IDLab. His research focuses on protocol and algorithm design for joint communication and sensing systems. He has a specific interest in energy neutral devices, and applications in extended reality and robotics. He is currently leading the work package on future devices and flexible infrastructure in the European Commission’s 6G flagship project Hexa-X-II, funded under the SNS JU. Within BEL6GICA, he leads WP3 on defining a Belgian research roadmap towards 6G.
